Purchase through my online gallery at Daily Paintworks HERE.

(Painted for day 30 of 30 of the Leslie Saeta paint 30 paintings in 30 days challenge.)

I wonder how many of the last day paintings will have celebration in the title or have had some caffeine involved somehow.  I know I've had my share of coffee and tea, early and late. While in a coffee house in Fredericksburg, I saw a T-shirt slogan that said it all "Instant human - just add coffee." Some of my friends think that way about tea and I do love my Earl Grey Tazo or is it because the purple on the box and tea bags are lavender? And lavender and a light green polka dot cup with a yellow lemon make a great color combination and throw in a spoon on a striped cloth and you have a winning composition.

Coffee cups have played a big role in my painting life and more importantly when I first saw Robert Burridge's coffee cups on the cover of a Cheap Joe's catalog. One image and I've since taken over a dozen workshops with him and one in the works at Dena's Wenmohs ranch in April.

Raise your cup of coffee or tea and CHEERS for coming along on this journey with me. I promise you I won't post tomorrow and I will get back on my maybe once or twice a week blogging and painting schedule.

I'm working on two new websites and I don't know which one will be permanent as I'm still in the free grace period. Maybe you could give me some hints? The one at FASO
http://nancystandlee.fineartstudioonline.com/
and the one at Weebly
http://nancystandlee.weebly.com/
I will change the name of one of them to my name dot com.
Along with the 30 in 30 challenge I've also taken Leslie Saeta marketing class in January and now have a Facebook Fine Art page at https://www.facebook.com/nancystandleefineart and you are invited to LIKE my page when you are on FB.
Thanks and I'll see you in a week or so. WHOOPEE!! I made it. ns

(Painted for day 29 of 30 of the Leslie Saeta paint 30 paintings in 30 days challenge.)

I do hope that if you started out on this challenge you have made it this far. I do enjoy making goals and sticking with them to completion; however many of mine never made it. I'm thinking of sewing a brown tweed wool tailored coat that I came to hate and it ended up in the trash before it was finished. That fabric looked much better in the store and me in brown? No. We need to remember if first you don't succeed, sky diving is not for you. But I've put some kind of paint down each day for 29 days and some little paintings I like better than others but sky diving is not in my future.
What is in my future as a Canvas by Canvas member is making plans for a show with reception flowers at the Breckenridge Fine Art Center in March and April, with the reception March 10. Here are seven of the members in executive session at Pho in Fort Worth yesterday discussing the logistics. Save the date and see you there. You are not required to bring flowers.

Just sold! Shimmering colors of autumn: Aspen trees quiver, their light graceful leaves tremble and quake, silver and gold, silver and gold with each light breeze.

1479 Oak Tree at Adams Ranch plein air

I started this one at the ranch on the Saturday paintout. I liked how the Spanish moss looked blowing in the breeze.  There were a few things I needed to tweak, it wasn't done 100 percent on location.  About 99 percent. I like it a lot better now.  Its 11 x 14 inches, oil on masonite.  $500.

(Painted for day 28 of 30 of the Leslie Saeta paint 30 paintings in 30 days challenge.)

Here is painting number 28 painted in January so I guess it's a good thing I did the challenge as January 2012 I only painted 9 paintings that month.

I sold Flower Flurries yesterday to an art collector in CA.
And Run to Me Little Chicks a collage to an art collector in Brooklyn, NY.
Thanks to the subscribers who have let me clog your inboxes each day. I have lost a few in the process but I've also gained a few fans. This has been a challenge in discipline and painting and I appreciate your comments and purchases.

A Lazy Afternoon by Janice Tingum

A Lazy Afternoon
11" x 14"
Palette Knife Painting
Oil on Panel
Janice Tingum Fine Art
Most of this painting was completed in plein air on the banks of this quiet stream. Later, I applied finishing touches in my studio. When I'm painting outdoors, I appreciate the variety of strokes I can achieve with the palette knife, in addition to the ease of packing and cleaning the knife.

A Girl Needs a Red Dress 13027
9x7 on canvas panel, original oil
$90.00

Purchase through my online gallery at Daily Paintworks HERE.

(Painted for day 27 of 30 of the Leslie Saeta paint 30 paintings in 30 days challenge.)

I took my first oil workshop last January with Peggi Kroll Roberts in Lodi, CA.  She started us off with a still life then on to figures. During the month of February I posted some figure work from her DVD's.  Later in March I went to Tucson for a figure plein air. The Red Dress Girl above is from a photo I took of one of the models from that workshop out in the beautiful backyard overlooking Tucson. In the photo there was a bright blue swimming pool behind the model and I decided just to add a blue band. I love painting figures and I really love how Peggi Kroll Roberts paints figures. This is one of my faves at the Knowlton Gallery who hosted the January workshop.   Garden Figure.
(You will have to search by Peggi's name to see her work)

Sold today to a Colorado Art Collector.

Take Flight Purple Pansies by Texas Flower Artist Nancy Medina

Take Flight Purple Pansies
by Nancy Medina
12X12
Palette Knife/Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas

My winter garden is a bit meager, but a few pansies are determined to make their appearance and have survived two small snowfalls. I love their whimsical, ruffley edges. I began this painting with a completely transparent underpainting in yellows and greens, and then built my clay pot with Transparent Oxide Red. I used my dry paper towel to lift out highlight areas, and then shaped the pansies with brush and palette knife. The last step was laying in the bright opaque greens and the blue sky peeping through to give the flowers light and air. After a day with overcast gray skies, it felt like time for some bright color!

"Symphony of Colors" New Textured Aspen Tree oil painting by Niki Gulley

"Symphony of Colors" ©2013 Niki Gulley
36" x 60" textured oil painting on wrap around canvas

Shimmering colors of autumn: Aspen and Oak trees quiver, their light graceful leaves tremble and quake, silver and gold, scarlet and tangerine, with each light breeze. There is the quiet energy of change coming and vibrant color charges the woods. Crisp fall mountain air, a band of slender straight trunks cut bright strokes of white against a dazzling tumble of amber and crimson. Staccato strokes and shimmering hues add to the feeling of change in the air and suggest the wind whistling through the foliage.

I painted Sheep's in the Meadow and posted on Nancy Standlee Art Blog HERE and thought I needed a companion piece, Cow's in the Corn.  I am partial to children's stories and books because I retired as an elementary librarian and we spent a lot of time acting out stories. I'll never forget the little boy who let me pin on his jeans a piece of Christmas tinsel for a fox tail. We had a grand time.

I've added a new phone app that I think will help me in my painting in composition and drawing. You might like it also..AccuView Here is their website to read more about it. I think it cost about $2.00.

"The Vastness of Where My Loved Ones Are" by Karla Nolan

Another nocturnal painting.  This one is in honor and memory of my loved ones, be they relative or friends -- when I got outside at night here in the northern part of Colorado, I often see many, many stars, all shades of pink, white, yellow, even lavender, and they are twinkling and winking at me -- I know that my loved ones, whom I miss so much, are there in the night.

"The Vastness of Where My Loved Ones Are", 9"x12" unframed palette knife oil painting on gesso board, $385 includes s/h in the continental U.S., Paypal accepted (click button below) or write me at KarlaNolan@gmail.com for more information

Thank you for viewing my art works....
